Portrait of Sean Wong

A snapshot of what has my attention right now.

Work

I’m in an active search for a full-stack or GenAI-focused software engineering role. I’m leaning into warm introductions and founder-stage teams rather than mass applications—I’d rather find a strong fit than a fast one.

Alongside the search, I’m building public proof through a self-directed study program in GenAI and retrieval-augmented generation. I’m working through a focused multi-week sprint designed to produce repos, demos, and architecture notes—evidence of how I think, not just notes to myself.

Training

I keep a semi-regular gym routine and am currently working toward holding a front lever. I’m drawn to the slow, honest process of earning something difficult.

As a left-hander, I’m also spending more time practicing with my right hand. It started as curiosity, but it’s become a reminder that growth usually feels awkward before it feels natural.

Listening, Reading, Making

  • Music: Lately I’ve fallen back in love with drum and bass—the kind that can change the feeling of a whole day.
  • Reading: Making my way through Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere. I’m endlessly drawn to ideas and worlds that expand how I think.
  • Making: Every so often I feel compelled to make some art of my own. Some of it lives in the Sketchbook.
